Social Media includes any online platform created and maintained by MPPL staff that facilitates communication between library staff and library users about library-related subjects and issues. Social Media is maintained and monitored by designated staff members. Postings in Social Media Forums will be restricted to information about Library programs and services and relevant community events*.

Comments, posts, and messages are welcome, but the following content is prohibited:

• Obscene, racist, sexist, or hateful content
• Personal attacks, insults or threatening language
• Potentially libelous statements
• Plagiarized material
• Personal information published without consent
• Comments or links unrelated to the forum
• Commercial promotions or solicitations
• Political campaigning or advocacy

The MPPL reserves the right to remove postings on any of its social media sites that violate these prohibitions and to block the poster from posting any subsequent content to Library media sites. The Melrose Park Public Library is not responsible or liable for content posted by any person in any forum.
