Hotspot Use

Don’t have WiFi access? Melrose Park Library cardholders 18 years and older, can checkout mobile hotspots. Once charged, the hotspot can be used indoor or outdoors, as long as you are within T-Mobile’s network coverage.  

  • Hotspots may be borrowed by MPPL card holders ages 18 and up in good standing.

  • The loan period is 3 weeks.

  • A hotspot is available for auto-renewal (2 days before the due date) up to 2 times if there are no holds.

  • Hotspots must be returned in-person at the Circulation Desk—do not return via the Bookdrop.

  • If the hotspot is not returned on time, it will be disabled.

  • Users who have on three separate occasions returned the hotspots late may lose their hotspot borrowing privileges.

  • Users assume full responsibility for the replacement cost ($100) in the event that the hotspot is lost, stolen, damaged, or never returned.

  • The USB charger, hotspot carrying case, and zipper pouch must be returned in good condition, or a replacement/repair charge may be assessed.

iPad Use

Need to borrow an iPad? Melrose Park Library cardholders 18 years and older, can checkout iPads to use in-library or anywhere.

iPad Checkout

  • iPads may be borrowed and checked out by valid MPPL card holders ages 18 and older.

  • The loan period is 3 weeks.

  • An iPad is available for auto-renewal (2 days before the due date) up to 2 times if there are no holds.

  • iPads must be returned in-person at the Circulation Desk—do not return via the Bookdrop.

  • If the iPad is not returned on time, it will be disabled.

  • Users who have on three separate occasions returned the iPads late may lose their iPad borrowing privileges.

  • Users assume full responsibility for the replacement cost ($300) in the event that the iPad is lost, stolen, damaged, or never returned.

  • The power adapter, charging cable, and iPad carrying case must be returned in good condition, or a replacement/repair charge may be assessed.

iPad In-Library Use

  • iPads can be checked out for in-library use by valid MPPL cardholders 18 and older.

  • Non MPPL cardholders or patrons with a valid ID ages 18 and older, can check out an iPad for in-library use. Non MPPL cardholders are required to leave a photo ID at the Circulation Desk until the iPad is returned.

  • In-library users assume full responsibility for the replacement cost ($300) in the event that the iPad is lost, stolen, damaged, or never returned.
