Hotspot Lending Policy

Library Board approved in 2022.

The Melrose Park Public Library makes mobile hotspots available for checkout to Melrose Park Public Library Card holders in good standing in order to meet educational needs. Hotspots are provided according to availability.

Hotspot Use:

The following rules and regulations apply:

• Hotspots may be borrowed by MPPL card holders ages 18 and up in good standing.

• The loan period is 3 weeks.

• A hotspot is available for auto-renewal (2 days before the due date) up to 2 times if there are no holds.

• Hotspots must be returned in-person at the Circulation Desk—do not return via the Bookdrop.

• If the hotspot is not returned on time, it will be disabled.

• Users who have on three separate occasions returned the hotspots late may lose their hotspot borrowing privileges.

• Users assume full responsibility for the replacement cost ($100) in the event that the hotspot is lost, stolen, damaged, or never returned.

• The USB charger, hotspot carrying case, and zipper pouch must be returned in good condition, or a replacement/repair charge may be assessed.
